Shea Kauffman
After receiving her Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver, Shea went to Burns, Wall, Smith & Meuller where she wrote title opinions and worked with the oil and gas litigation team. Eventually, she went to work for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation where she met her colleague and Alpenglow Energy Solutions Co-Founder, Robert Spencer. After Anadarko, Shea joined Crestone Peak Resources as the VP of Land and Business Development and acted as the company's interim general counsel. When Crestone Peak was acquired by Civitas Resources in 2021, Shea took on the role of Deputy General Counsel for Civitas until February 2024.
Shea brings 18 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with an emphasis on legal, regulatory matters, EHS and ESG, mergers and acquisitions, Federal, State and fee land project management and operated and non-operated project management. Shea has managed multiple land teams, business development teams and has been responsible for a variety of legal functions including oil and gas litigation, corporate governance, midstream and marketing and land acquisitions and divestitures.
Shea was a member of the Senior Assistance Center board of directors in Denver, Colorado and acted as a trustee for Colorado Ballet. She currently serves on the Advocacy Committee for the Denver Association of Professional Landmen and serves as a board member for the Denver Center for Intercultural Scholars Foundation. Outside of work, Shea enjoys traveling, cooking, spending time in the Colorado Rockies and enjoying time with her family and friends.

Robert Spencer
After receiving his Juris Doctorate from the University of Denver, Robert works with public, privately held, and private equity-backed organizations, including notable energy firms such as Walsh Engineering & Production, Crestone Peak Resources, HRM Resources, WhitMar Exploration and Anadarko Petroleum, where he met his colleague and Alpenglow Energy Solutions Co-Founder, Shea Kauffman.
Robert is an accomplished energy professional with 18 years of combined land and management experience. He excels in drafting and negotiating operational and development agreements, with a strong background in strategy creation. Robert has a proven record of negotiating asset trades, farmouts, and both small and large-scale acquisitions and divestitures, emphasizing due diligence, risk analysis, and regulatory and environmental health and safety. He has recently joined the Board of Directors of Epic Energy, LLC to assist in ushering Epic Energy through the many challenges onshore domestic energy production is facing in this decade.
In addition to his professional achievements, Robert has volunteered as an Executive Board Member of the Senior Assistance Center of Denver for the last 11 years. He also participates in his family-run business cultivating ancient olive varieties and producing award winning olive oil, Rastrello Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Outside of work, he enjoys international travel and organic farming and cultivation.
